CURRENT – WOLFSPELZ
From January 31, 2026, Space, Junges Theater Freiburg
The sheep Bellwidder Rückwelzer loves gentle things: flowers, birdsong, and blackberries. But in the forest, where all these things can be found, hungry wolves lurk. Only the bad guys are strong, thinks Bellwidder, and sews himself a wolf skin. Now he looks so dangerous that he is almost afraid of himself. Bellwidder, the sheep in wolf's clothing, can no longer smell flowers or hear birds. But the wolves fall for his disguise and accept him into their pack. However, his new coat is becoming increasingly worn. Bellwidder is afraid – surely the wolves will eat him! But when he stands before the wolves wearing only his sheepskin, Bellwidder experiences a big surprise...
Theater Tier brings Sid Sharp's award-winning children's book "The Wolf's Clothing" to the stage as a puppet show at the Junges Schauspiel theater in Freiburg. In this story, the bad guys are not strong. On the contrary: they miss out on the best things in life. Because true friendships only develop when we have the courage to show who we really are. And when we don't hide our vulnerability.
Puppet theater based on the picture book by Sid Sharp. World premiere.
Director: Mia Grau, Puppet design and puppetry: Vanessa Valk, Set design: Jens Burde, Costumes: Mai Gogishvili, Music: Konrad Wiemann, Dramaturgy: Michael Kaiser
