Frida and the Anger | 2015 – AVAILABLE FOR BOOKING
Puppet theater for people of all ages
A shaggy creature with red eyes and thick eyebrows follows little Frida everywhere she goes: it is called "the Wut" and incites the girl to violent outbursts over the slightest annoyances. Anger hates cutting fingernails, eating spinach, and combing hair... and a thousand other things. And because Anger can't stand all of that, Frida hates these things too. However, she doesn't feel so good after her tantrums. She feels sorry for Frida and makes her sad. One day, she finally has had enough. She wants to get rid of the anger at all costs and therefore throws it out of the house. But Frida can't enjoy this for long. Because with the shaggy monster, her self-confidence and courage have also disappeared. Somehow, it's pretty stupid, a life without anger!

A hymn of praise to the power of anger!
Together with puppeteer Vanessa Valk, author and director Mia Grau has brought her picture book Frida and the Anger to the stage.
Enchanting and consistently staged. (...)
"Vanessa Valk impresses with a powerful performance and different voices.
Another highlight of this successful production is Frida's dream as a shadow play.
– Godot – The Hamburg Theater Magazine
Vanessa Valk directs her characters with precision. (...) Konrad Wiemann accompanies them with a variety of instruments and an atmospheric soundscape that is sometimes rocking, sometimes poetic. (...) A sincere and very sensitive piece, executed with sophistication and originality.
